Michael Peters is senior managing director and chief operating officer at Voya Investment Management, responsible for operations, investment analytics, mutual fund administration, project- and vendor management. He joined the firm following Voya’s acquisition of certain teams and associated assets from Allianz Global Investors U.S. (“AllianzGI”) business. Prior to joining Voya IM, he was based in Europe as head of investment business management and member of the Investment Executive Committee at AllianzGI. During his tenure at AllianzGI, Michael served in various roles including COO Europe and global head of operations, where he was the responsible lead for the Alternatives Build Out of Allianz Global Investors and, he was globally responsible for Allianz Insurance Asset Management coordinating Allianz Global Investors’ activities around insurance asset management. Michael’s career at Allianz started as a senior risk manager before taking over the role as head of products, initially for retail Germany, and later the whole of Europe including the institutional product offering also overseeing fund research and fund sourcing. He began his career at Dresdner Bank AG and held a series of roles before Dresdner was acquired by Allianz. Michael earned a degree in economics from the Frankfurt School of Finance.
